TPEA 37th Annual Conference
New Perspectives on Education and Technology
2nd - 3rd July 2025
A Different Kind of Conference...
In 2025,  we introduced  a new format for the TPEA Annual Conference. Thanks to our generous sponsors at Taylor Francis, the conference was free to TPEA Members+ and we also offered a number of travel and accommodation bursaries to support attendance.Â
This was not a traditional conference – we spent two days working together to produce resources for our community and colleagues in schools, ITT providers and universities. The outcome of our conference will be a number of ‘TPEA Perspectives’ – short reports with insights from research and practice, case studies of good practice, and ideas for action. These will be edited and published shortly in a range of formats. Every attendee contributed as a co-author to one or more of the TPEA Perspective reports.Â
The conference was held at York St John University on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd July 2025.Â
Conference Themes
During the conference, attendees formed working groups to debate, share and collate examples of research and practice.

How can we guide schools and teachers to break down barriers and transform lives with assistive technology? The output of this group will be published shortly.
- TPEA manifesto / call to action
Following on from our 2024 conference and the work from the 2025 conference, this group drew together the various strands of work into a ‘manifesto’ for the TPEA and its ‘call to action’. The output of this group will be published shortly.
