As a subject association for educational technology, BETT is surely a highlight of our year but it has naturally been interrupted by the pandemic. After a postponed 2021 event, TPEA once again was pleased to be involved in BETT this March and represent members in three ways:

  • As Chair of TPEA, I have been part of the BETT Advisory Panel for the past two years along with Beverley Clarke from CAS to represent to voice of the subject associations;
  • We were once again a BETT partner (https://uk.bettshow.com/Partners) increasing our visibility as an association, and finally;
  • We ran our TPEA Research Safaris with a mixture of virtual and face-to-face presentations. We were also thrilled to share the stage with six Year 6 learners from Crosthwaite Church of England Primary School who reflected briefly on their digital experiences during lockdown.

Thank you to all the presenters who presented their research and provided the audience with plenty to think about. A huge thank you to John Sibbald and Professor Christina Preston who were heavily involved in the organisation of the TPEA Research Safaris. Without them, it would not have been possible.
